It seems that everywhere you go, it's starting to look and feel a lot like Christmas!
We are new in town and because this will be our first Christmas in Woodstock, we’ve decided to do a little research into what to do and where to do it in town. We thought our Woodstock community might appreciate a list, because wow, there is A LOT to do in 2019!
We had a hard time getting this list down, so if there’s something you think should be included, please email us.
Woodstock Santa Claus Parade: Everyone loves Santa Claus, and everyone loves a Santa Claus parade. The parade runs November 16, 2019 at 6pm (nice that it’s dark because you can see lights on the floats). More information can be found at: https://www.woodstocksantaparade.ca/
Christmas in Downtown Woodstock: The Downtown Woodstock BIA kicks off holiday shopping with a Ding Dong the Tax is Gone event November 15, 2019 (see this link for a list of participating merchants: https://www.downtownwoodstock.ca/christmas.html). We also LOVE that there is a Santa’s House run by the Woodstock Camera Club for only $5 each. That’s an amazing deal and after….you can go on a horse drawn sleigh ride through Downtown Woodstock. Pretty cool!
Old Time Country Christmas 2019 – On December 16 at 7pm, support the College Avenue United Church by buying tickets to the Old Time Country Christmas. This is such a cool idea, and a nice take on traditional Christmas carols. More information can be found at: http://www.scottwoods.ca/event/woodstock-on-old-time-christmas-2019/
Tour of Lights: They don’t call Woodstock the Friendly City for nothing. For a small fee, you can hop onto a City of Woodstock bus that drives around to the most impressive business and house light displays. We’re thinking of the Griswalds right now….Tours start Monday, December 9 until Saturday, December 14. More information available at: https://www.cityofwoodstock.ca/en/live-and-play/tour-of-lights.aspx#
Donate PJs or Toys to Power of Hope: Christmas is about giving. We have a donation box at our office at 1150 Ridgeway Road, Woodstock and we’re happy to take PJs, toys, toiletries, and other similiar items. This all goes to helping those who need help. If you’re feeling very generous, please consider donating: http://powerofhopeontario.ca/
It really is the most wonderful time of the year and we’re thrilled to be part of the Woodstock community.
Don’t forget, Santa is stopping by our place December 24th because he ran out of room at the North Pole for all the gifts, so if you want us to chat with him to get you onto the Nice list, just give us a call.
