1. Hiking at Crawford Lake Conservation Area: If you’re looking for an adventure, you need to experience the picturesque trails of Crawford Lake Conservation Area. It’s so peaceful on this trail that you’ll feel like you’re 4 hours north of the city. Take a leisurely stroll around Crawford Lake or challenge yourself to a hike along the Bruce Trail. Spring offers the perfect opportunity to witness the vibrant hues of wildflowers and budding trees, and combined with breathtaking views and serene surroundings, this conservation area promises an unforgettable outdoor experience. 2. Cycling on the Escarpment Rail Trail: This activity is for our active friends - both seasoned riders and casual cyclists! Hop on your bike and explore the Escarpment Rail Trail, which is a scenic route that winds through lush greenery and charming countryside. This is in the Hamilton area, but it’s not a long drive, and it’s really unique. Springtime brings mild temperatures and blooming landscapes, making it an ideal season for cycling enthusiasts looking to get outside and enjoy nature. 3. Birdwatching at Mountsberg Conservation Area: Nature enthusiasts and bird lovers alike will delight in the opportunity to birdwatch at Mountsberg Conservation Area. Mountsberg is a few minutes away from us and houses the Raptor Centre. There are many wild birds around the area, so grab your binoculars and explore the diverse habitats within the conservation area, where you may spot a variety of bird species nesting and foraging. 4. Exploring Kelso Conservation Area: From hiking and mountain biking to picnicking and paddleboarding on Kelso Lake, there's something for everyone to enjoy at Kelso Conservation Area! With its scenic vistas and abundant wildlife, Kelso Conservation Area is a springtime paradise waiting to be explored and enjoyed. You can see Kelso from the 401 - it’s at the base of the Glen Eden ski hill. Tip – In the summer season the beach area is packed, so make sure to get there earlier in the day…we know this blog post is focused on spring, but visiting here is great summer activity too!
5. Visiting the Milton Farmer's Market in May: Raise your hand if you’re eagerly awaiting the opening of the Milton Farmer's Market in May? We are too! This market showcases the best of local produce, artisanal goods, homemade treats, handcrafted jewelry and more. This years’ Market opens May 18, so mark your calendars and join the community in celebrating the arrival of spring at the Milton Farmer's Market.
