At Storage Solutions, we are always adapting to our current environment to better serve our customers.
Coronavirus, or COVID-19, is creating very serious issues for individuals, businesses and governments in our communities and across the world. We know that keeping our customers safe, but also serving their needs, is our most important task.
Our customers need us to provide storage for vital household items, act as a temporary warehouse for their small business, or, many of our customers are essential businesses and use our self-storage service for their business. We know people are relying on us to adapt so that our self-storage continues, but limits exposure to COVID-19 for both our customers and our employees.
The management team at Storage Solutions in Milton and Woodstock introduced totally contactless “Touch-Free Rentals” earlier this month at their self-storage facilities, anticipating that our government would ramp up its response to COVID-19. Customers (existing and new) can take virtual tours of our individual storage units, view sizing and pricing options and can communicate with us, rent and pay all 100% online. The main reason we have been able to quickly adapt our regular way of doing business is because we have always invested in good technology and systems.
Our touch-free rental process is incredibly simple and takes minutes - customers text us at 905-854-1008 or email us at info@storagesolutionsontario.com, we respond quickly and efficiently to help with a new rental, bill payment, answer questions, and more.
Storage Solutions is still employing its staff, but we are working in a different way.
Because COVID-19 lives on surfaces for varying amounts of time, Storage Solutions decided against introducing a kiosk at our locations. Our thinking is that if an infected individual uses the kiosk (please remember, many who have COVID-19 are unaware they do), then this may impact other customers, and our staff.
We realize that our customers still need security and so we refuse to cut out this function, knowing that we can monitor security cameras remotely and also have one employee practice social distancing and do physical security checks. We feel that physical security checks over our locations are necessary and part of what our customers expect from us so we will continue to do these until the government forces us to stop. Please note, our employee performing the physical security check does not interact with any other individuals in order to slow and stop the spread.
Our Milton self-storage and Woodstock self-storage locations are still being maintained to the high standard our customers expect both inside and outside while adhering to social distancing guidelines. While our offices have enhanced cleaning measures in place, the Storage Solutions management did not feel comfortable remaining open to the public. It’s too difficult to clean the office each time an individual enters, and we felt we could not safely serve our customers and protect our employees offering in-person services at this time. So, our offices are temporarily closed. The doors are locked, and large signs have been placed around our offices communicating to customers that they can text or email us for service. We also have our phone-line forwarded so can assist through regular phone call.
Many of our customers are embracing our new touchless, contactless self storage rental process. Some have even sent us emails saying they prefer touch-free rentals because we respond early in the morning all the way until very late at night. They appreciate how easy it is to reach us and get the support they need.
We are so thankful that we live and work in such great communities and that we can continue to serve our customers. For the many who are social distancing or self-isolating for the past 2 weeks, you’ve likely undertaken (or plan to start) some deep cleaning and serious organizing projects in your home. Whether you have piles of seasonal clothing and accessories, items you’re saving for your next child (or grandchild), or you’re preparing for a move or to stage and sell your home once the pandemic is over, we can help you in a way that keeps you safe.
Stay safe & healthy, and if you have any questions, we’re just a click away!
Your friend in self-storage,
Storage Solutions
