One of the things we love most about Milton and the surrounding Halton Region is how beautiful the winter and Christmas holiday season is in our communities. Another thing we love is how many fun activities there are to experience and enjoy!
We know that winter is not everyone’s cup of tea, especially when the snow dumps down hard, roads turn to ice rinks, and how eyebrows freeze just stepping a foot outside the door to grab the newspaper. Shoveling snow really should be an Olympic sport, right?! Even if winter is not your favourite season (we know it’s summer), there are a variety of interesting and fun things offering in and around our community.
Milton Santa Clause Parage (Saturday, November 26th): Layer on your warmest clothes, stuff your pockets with candy canes, and fill up your thermos with hot cocoa because the Milton Santa parade is back this year! The parade starts at 1:30 pm at Main Street West and Whitmer. Visit their website for full details and the parade route: https://www.miltonsantaclausparade.ca/
Skiing and Snowboarding Close to Home: We’re very lucky to have a ski hill just minutes from our community of Campbellville! The snow has started to fly, so it won’t be long until Glen Eden is open for the season and offering tons of fun on the slopes - https://gleneden.on.ca/. Glen Eden is a great sized facility for those looking to learn how to ski or snowboard, or those who already know how and just want to have fun. They offer seasons passes, day passes, and lessons!
Campbellville Santa Clause Parade (Sunday, December 18th): This year, the parade is returning to the village in its traditional format! Last year, the parade was a drive through event due to government and health restrictions, but this year it will return to its previous glory. The Campbellville Santa Clause parade is a great community gathering involving floats, a big combine tractor, and there are many other local events following. It’s also very close to Christmas and is a great way to get into the holiday spirit.
Christmas Town – Mountsberg Conservation Area: If you’re interested in a magical visit with Santa this Christmas then look no further than Mountsberg Conservation Area. This awesome experience includes a wintery wagon ride, treats, crafts and more! It’s a great family activity, right in our beloved Campbellville. Tickets are needed and they go fast! Visit their website for full details: https://www.conservationhalton.ca/christmas-town/
Outdoor Activities at Crawford Lake Conservation Area: Another great place in Campbellville to offer exquisite nature experience is Crawford Lake. Put on your hiking boots and hit the trails to see the beautiful nature in our community. You can even snowshoe or cross-country ski, once we have a good snowfall! There is a boardwalk that wraps around the lake, and bug wooden carvings of local animal species along the trail. Check out their website to learn more about their winter activities - https://www.conservationhalton.ca/parks/crawford-lake/
It’s been 25+ years since we opened our storage facility here in Milton, and we STILL always look forward to seeing our amazing customers this time of year. There is definitely something in the air that makes this time of year so special. We also get excited for candy canes, Christmas lights, and of course Santa’s visit on December 24 to pick up all the toys he has in storage unit.
