Sometimes it’s hard to find the perfect words to truly describe how we feel about our communities. It’s true that we love them and the amazing people within them, and that we are genuinely proud to be part of these communities.
Recently though, we find ourselves in a state of speechless awe at how our communities have pulled together to support one another during this pandemic.
In this blog post, we’ve decided to reflect on Woodstock & Oxford County, and more importantly, applaud and celebrate the kindness and solidarity that local businesses have shown to each other and how they have been able to adapt in some interesting and innovative ways to keep serving their loyal customers and move forward. Here are just some of the many examples:
Your Oxford launched a partnership with Support Local Oxford at the end of April which supports local vendors and retailers in Oxford County with an easy, convenient online shopping experience so they could still sell to their customers. It’s been wonderful for businesses who do not have an online store, as they can now sell and deliver to their customers, which would have otherwise not been possible.
Upper Thames Brewing House has kept its brewery open for retail sales and keeps their coolers full of cold beer for purchase...but wait, it gets better…Todds Dogs food truck visits the premises, so you can get amazing beer and amazing food! There is no better pair than these two.
Early Bird Coffee has been delivering their coffee beans to customers in Oxford County for free. Folks may not be able to pop inside their fave local coffee house for a delicious cup of coffee, but they can get freshly roasted Early Bird Coffee beans delivered right to their front door.
Woodstock Chamber of Commerce has loaded their website with helpful resources for businesses navigating COVID-19 and the fluid situation. From providing helpful links to finding suppliers for PPE to providing info sessions, they are committed to helping local businesses stay open or re-open.
104.7 Heart FM launched a page on their website for businesses to list their information and help communicate to their customers any changes in their business operations or hours due to COVID-19 for free.
We know there are many more amazing things businesses are doing in Woodstock and Oxford County, so if there are any businesses you think should have a spotlight on them, we’d love to hear about them - so please share! Our communities are made strong by the people and businesses in them, and together, we really are stronger.
Be safe, be healthy and most importantly, continue being kind.
