Self-storage is great for people who are renovating, staging their house, temporarily relocating, etc. but it’s also great if you’re just living in your house!
Consider this: we all have that room, or in our case, floor, in our house that things get “dumped”. Mine is the bottom of the basement stairs; I like that I can throw things down the stairs and they kind of stay there. In theory, I keep telling myself that I’m going to get down there and install shelving and Rubbermaids, but it never happens. Now, I have a storage unit, and it is way more organized than the bottom of my basement stairs, my kids have a playroom, so they’re happy, and I have more space, so I’m happy.
Self-storage isn’t just for those in chaos, it’s a secure, inexpensive and easy way to gain space in your home or office. At Storage Solutions, we have many customers who initially come to our facility in Milton because they’re waiting for their house to be built and there was a delay, and because they see how easy and convenient our facility and self-storage is in general, they stay for years.
The one thing to keep in mind if you’re using self-storage as your extra space, is that it can be used all year round. In the summer, you can store winter blankets, snow suits, snow blowers, sleds, in the winter you can store kiddie-pools, lawnmowers, wheelbarrows, and all year-round, the units at Storage Solutions are perfect for your off-site shed, workshop, basement or attic as well.
We recommend that customers visit their unit every once in a while for a couple reasons, but the main one being we don’t want you to store things you will never use. That’s silly. Stuff you will never use should be donated to charity, given away to family members or disposed of properly. Give us a call or come into the office and we can give you some suggestions of where to take things – trust me, there are a lot of charities who are so grateful for the donations.
If you have a room, or a dump space as I did, self-storage is great for you. It gives you space back in your house, forces you to be more organized and also, it forces you to deal with belongings and make those hard decisions on whether they’re worth keeping or not.
As always, we would love to hear from you! Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, call us at 905-854-1008 or come into the office for a tour.
