Hello Summer 2023! In case you hadn’t heard, it’s meant to be a hot one, and after this winter, we’ve decided to embrace the sun and heat and appreciate our beautiful community.
We do love the summer months, and there is no shortage of things to do in Milton, Campbellville, and the surrounding area in the summer. We have some customers who say they look forward to visiting their unit and taking their “fun car” out for a spin in the beautiful escarpment area. Besides taking the scenic route, there are a lot of activities to do and places to go. We’ve put together some of the things we’re most looking forward to this year, and maybe you will too!
Woodbine Mohawk Park: Visiting Mohawk feels like entering into a different world. There’s a lot of excitement around a horse race, and with various events throughout the summer, you’ll always catch something new. The renovation still continues to impress, parking is very easy, and it’s a great place to visit in the summer. Upcoming events and races are listed here: https://woodbine.com/mohawk/
Lochland Botanicals: Remember the newspaper articles a few years ago about people stopping in a farm field to take pictures with the flowers? Well, now there is a safer (and legal) way to do that. Lochland Botanicals is Milton’s pick your own flower farm. It’s a cool story – two veterinarians started this farm and now they’re exploring medicinal plants. Their pick your own is limited to certain time periods of the year (probably when the flowers are at their best!). Lochland Botanicals is located at 2468 25 Side Road, Milton, Ontario L0P 1B0. Full details are on their website: https://lochlandbotanicals.com/
Grumblin’ Grannys: This one-of-a-kind store located in Campbellville, is filled with really unique finds. We like their outdoor décor and signs, and we always find different things when we pop over. You can tell the owners have done extensive travelling because the store inventory cannot be described – totally different items made by skilled crafts people! Their address is 50 Main Street North, Campbellville – you can’t miss it! Check out their website too: https://www.grumblingrannys.com/
Martin’s Sweet Farm: When we think of Martin’s, we usually think of maple syrup, but we’re really into their honey! Drizzle some in yogurt, or on top of strawberries (which you can also pick locally). The honey is 100% natural, unpasteurized, and from Halton Region. Very cool. You can purchase products online: https://www.martinssweetfarm.com/collections and pick up at 2423 20th Sideroad, Campbellville, Ontario.
Cate & Co. Vintage Boutique: This is a store with regular store hours, but also offers workshops. Some highlight workshops that you know you need – Kitchen & Bathroom Cabinets! Backsplash & Flooring! Tricky Surfaces – Hardwood, Vinyl & Engineered! Honestly, we all look at something in our house and wonder how the heck to fix it – now you can get those skills right in Campbellville. Check out the workshops here: https://www.cateandcodesigns.com/summerworkshops.
Downtown Milton Events: The Downtown Milton events calendar is so busy…and fun too! It’s been amazing watching Milton grow from a small, sleepy town, to such a thriving community. The full events calendar is here: https://downtownmilton.com/events/ but some highlights that we personally enjoy are the weekly Farmers’ Market put on by the Milton Chamber of Commerce Saturday mornings, any event that the Milton Historical Society puts on, Milton’s StreetFest, and the classic car show.
We are so lucky and thankful to live in such a great area. There’s no shortage of beautiful, natural places to go (any of the Conservation Halton sites), events to attend, and local shops to check out.
And don’t forget about us, Storage Solutions! We have made online rentals and payments simple, upgraded our security and gate systems to the newest models, and even though we have to distance, we are able to still provide you with simple self-storage at our Milton self storage facility.
